The location here is great, it's very close to the center. There's a nice place to grab lunch nearby called Shapiro's Delicatessen.

the Merkaj hotel in berat is a new - clean, and fresh place. it's conveniently located near the city center and close to old sights. the owner speaks English and is easily reachable. the room is spacious and sparkling clean. the breakfast is simple but good - with hot cheese pie - sour milk, and coffee.

Great breakfast with a variety of options including veggies, cheese, yogurt, toast, and eggs. Exceptional hospitality and a super friendly host. Good value for money with top-star hotel amenities at a cheap price.

I stayed at Merkaj Hotel for a few nights during my trip to explore the historic sights. The brand new building and fresh furniture made for a clean and comfortable stay. The owner, who speaks English, was always available and helpful. The location was excellent, close to the center and old sights. The breakfast was amazing, and the room was nice with spacious bathroom. The friendly host provided tea, water, and coffee in the breakfast area.

One downside is that the property can be a bit difficult to find, as it's located in a residential area. However, it's still only a 5-10 minute walk to the main pedestrian street, so it's not a major issue.
